ANNIE FITZGERALD DIES AT 79 YEARS

Mrs. John Fitzgerald of Winterset died Friday, Jan 10th at Memorial hospital in this community. She was 79 years of age.

Mrs. Fitzgerald had been a resident of Madison county since 1928. She was a native of Atchinson county, Missouri, where she was born Oct. 22, 1889. She was the former Annie M. Humes, daughter of George and Emma McIntyre Humes.

Her early life was spent in Missouri. She lived in Canada for 11 years before moving to Iowa in 1921, and to this county in 1928.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of the Church of Christ at North Star, Mo.

She was married in Nebraska April 8, 1908, to John Fitzgerald who survives her. She also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Barber of West Des Moines and Mrs. Fern Schaffer of Des Moines; three sons, Floyd Fitzgerald of Peru, Leon Fitzgerald of Winterset and Orville Fitzgerald of Truro; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a brother, Omar Humes of LaCombe, Alberta, Canada.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery at Truro.

Mrs. Fitzgerald Buried Sunday

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 12, for Annie Maybelle Fitzgerald, 79, who died Friday, January 10, at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset. Rev. Richard Hempinus officiated at the 2 p .m. services which were held from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Interment was in Hartman Cemetery.

Annie Maybelle Fitzgerald was born October 22, 1889, in Atchinson county, Missouri, daughter of George Humes and Emma McIntyre Humes. She married John Fitzgerald in Nebraska on April 8, 1908. Six children were born to this union. She lived in Canada for 11 years before moving to Iowa in 1921 where she lived the remainder of her life in Madison county.

She was a member of the North Star Church of Christ in North Star, Missouri. Survivors include her husband, John Fitzgerald of Winterset; two daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Barber of West Des Moines and Mrs. Fern Schaffer of Des Moines; three sons, Floyd Fitzgerald of Peru, Leon Fitzgerald of Winterset and Orville Fitzgerald of Truro; one brother, Omar Humes of LaCombe, Alberta, Canada; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and one daughter.
