Jay Fenimore, Des Moines

Jay D. Fenimore, 63, of Des Moines, died of cancer on Dec. 18, 1994 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services were at the Union Park Baptist Church on Dec. 21 with burial at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.

He was born near Peru to Grover and Rae Fenimore. He graduated in 1949 from Winterset High School and married Beverly Cameron on Dec. 31, 1950. He was owner of Fenimore's Flowers and Gifts. He was a member of the Union Park Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; and one brother.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Terry Fenimore and wife Yvonne of Waukee; two daughters, Kathy Brown and husband Steve of Urbandale, and Lori Wilcox and husband Karl of Chesterfield, Va.; two sisters, Jean Porter of St. Charles and Susan Hagen of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Kay Fenimore of Santa Anna, Calif., Bill Fenimore of Chicago and Paul Fenimore of Arizona; and seven grandchildren.
