Paul Vernon Williamson, 78, of St. Charles died of kidney failure March 3, 2000, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Blair Chapel Cemetery, South Township, Madison County.
Paul Williamson was born Nov. 15, 1921, to Frank and Carrie (Maxwell) Williamson of Bondurant. He married Violet Hirsch on Feb. 14, 1946, in Des Moines. An Army veteran of World War II, Paul, a farmer, was a resident of Madison County for 53 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Lon Williamson and Gayle Williamson, both of St. Charles, and Gary Williamson of Osceola; two daughters, Nancy Howard and Arleen Williamson, both of St. Charles; a sister, Ruth Mathis (husband Taylor) of Bondurant; 18 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
