Fon Faust, Traer

Fon A. Faust, 90, of Traer, died Jan. 6, 1997 at the Covenant Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services were Jan. 10 at the Marshalltown First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jerald Swanberg and the Rev. Marshall Montei officiated the services and burial was at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

He was born May 15, 1906 in St. Charles to Arthur Aldon and Eva Mae (Peffley) Faust. He was a 1924 graduate of St. Charles High School. He then attended the Capital City Commercial College and the University of Iowa. He married C. Jeannette McEldowney on Feb. 24, 1934 in Fontanelle. He retired after 34 years of employment with Fisher Corporation. He was a member of the Traer United Methodist Church; a former member of the Marshalltown First United Methodist Church; the Homebuilder's Club; the United Methodist Men's Club; Marshalltown Evening Lions, and the Fisher's 25 Year Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Surviving relatives include his wfie of Traer; one son, Donald Faust of Pine Bluff, Ark.; one daughter, Marilyn Roberts and husband Jerry of Marshalltown; one brother, Dean Faust of Rogers, Ark.; six grandsons; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons, and three step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
