STRAUD WILLIAMS, Winterset

Straud Alonzo Williams, 83, died September 3, 1993 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Williams was born August 2, 1910 to Bird and Carrie (Messner) Williams in Adair County. He married Lois M. Rogers on August 30, 1930 in Fairmont, Mn. He was a retired farmer who moved to Winterset from Emmet County in 1930. He was a Deacon at the First Christian Church in Winterset.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Oscar Williams; and three sisters, Fern, Rachel and Ruby Williams.

Surviving relatives include his wife; sons, Harold Williams of Indianola, Ronald Williams of Winterset; daughters, Alma Beard of Charles City, Phyllis Moore of Cedar Rapids and Mary Hoien of Mt Vernon, Ill., sisters, Helen Eisenhower of Estherville; Emma Rider of Omaha, Nebr.; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
