Arthur Eldridge Death Reported

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 21, from Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson for Arthur Eldridge, 74.

The Rev. Don Bardole, minister of Dana Community United Methodist Church at Dana, officiated.

Leslie Arthur Eldridge, son of Lawson and Sarah Harris Eldridge was born August 23, 1904 in Madison County near St. Charles. He died March 18 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.

Arthur was raised on a farm in Madison county where he attended rural school and graduated from Patterson High School. After his schooling, Arthur farmed in Madison County. On September 4, 1929, he was married to Evelyn Hubbard at Bedford.

They continued to farm in Madison County until 1937. At this time the family moved to Greene County, where they farmed in the Paton and Jefferson area until 1953.

In 1953, they moved to Keytesville, Mo. where they lived until 1959. At this time, they returned to the Dana and Grand Junction area where they were living at the time of Arthur's death.

Arthur was a member of the Dana Community United Methodist Church and was a former 4-H leader.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Grand Junction; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Francis) Fenimore of Ames and Kathleen Eldridge at home; two sons, Loren Eldridge of Adel; and Gerald Eldridge of Grand Junction, 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Opal Wearmouth of Lorimor.
