William Oscar Eivins

William Oscar Eivins, son of John and Evaline Eivins was born in Clark county, Iowa, March 20, 1874, at which place he lived until the age of sixteen, then moved to Madison county at the age of 19 years where he has since resided.

In 1928 he joined the Macksburg M.E. church and was a faithful attendant as long as his health would permit. For eleven years he was an invalid.

He departed this life on March 6, 1933, at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 14 days. His father preceded him in death January 6, 1916 and his mother, February 14, 1924. One sister Bertie, February 2, 1929. He leaves to mourn his loss three sisters, Mrs. Sophronia Bates, Carrie and Alice and seven brothers; James of Salem, South Dakota; Benjamin of Mullins Nebraska; Richard of Kent, John, Isaac, Elmer and Wesley of Macksburg. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The funeral service was conducted in the Methodist church at Macksburg Thursday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Mrs. Wolfe, his pastor. Interment was made in the Macksburg cemetery. All the family being present except James of Salem, South Dakota and Benjamin of Mullins, Nebraska.
