1962CLAUDE R. EIVINS DIES AT CRESTON
Retired Macksburg Farmer Had Lived in Creston Since 1958
Claude R. Eivins, retired Madison county farmer, died July 7 at the hospital in Creston, after a long illness. He was 63 years of age.
Mr. Eivins had lived in Creston since retiring from the farm in 1958. He was born near Macksburg Sept. 12, 1898, a son of Isaac and Ida Bates Eivins.
He was married at Winterset June 14, 1922, to Josephine M. Kloss, who survives him.
Mr. Eivins was a member of the Wesley Methodist church, transferring to the Presbyterian church when he moved to Creston. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge at Macksburg.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Harold Eivins of Warrenton, Mo., and Lee Eivins of Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Hoepker of Orient and Mrs. Elsie Mae Lamb of Creston; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Eivins of Winterset and Doyle Eivins of Des Moines; and three sisters, Mrs. Florence Campbell of Jamestown, N.Dak., Mrs. Mildred Karns of Ellston, and Mrs. Gladys Binns of Winterset.
Funeral services were held July 9 from the Macksburg Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. Donald Frank. Burial was made in Moon cemetery near Macksburg.
