Services for Reuben W. Webb, 91, rural Adel, who died at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines on July 11, were held Fri., July 13, at the Earlham Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Henry officiating. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

Born December 18, 1898 in O'Brien County, Iowa, he was the son of Charles and Phoebe Hill Webb. He grew up in Waterman township of O'Brien County. He was a World War I veteran and served in the Philippine Islands.

He married Christine Countryman on August 12, 1922. During his lifetime he worked as a farmer, quarry worker and did tiling, while living in Minnesota and Iowa. Reuben was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Winterset.

Survivors include a daughter, Fern Davis and husband Mercer of rural Van Meter; a son, Byron and wife Darlene of rural Adel; a sister, Ruth Johnson of Estherville; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter.
