CLARA B. EYERLY DIES AT 90 YEARS

Funeral Rites for Well-Known Resident Held Here Monday

Mrs. Clara B. Eyerly of Winterset, member of a well-known family in this community, died Friday, Feb. 28, at a nursing home here. She was 90 years of age.

Mrs. Eyerly was born at Winterset Aug. 14, 1873. She was the former Clara Bailey, daughter of Moses and Mary Chandler Bailey. Her entire life was spent in Madison County.

She was a member of the Methodist church. On Dec. 31, 1897, she was married to George W. Eyerly. Her husband, and 11 of her step-children, preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eldon Thomas and Mrs. Ralph Shoemaker of Winterset; five sons, Emerson Eyerly of St. Charles, Howard R. Eyerly of Brighton, Colo., John Hugh Eyerly of Chicago, Lloyd W. Eyerly of Des Moines, and Samuel O. Eyerly of Des Moines; two step-sons, Loren and Fred Eyerly of Winterset; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the First Methodist church of Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. John C. Porath. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
