Clella Mabel Williamson, 97, of Winterset, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002. Services were held Feb. 5 at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with burial at the Earlham Cemetery.

Clella Williamson was born June 29, 1904, to Fred and Lottye Fairholm Slocum in Cumberland. At age 17, she moved to Earlham to live with her aunt and uncle, Mayme and Raymond Afflack after her mother's death. She graduated from Earlham High School in 1923.

She was active in the Earlham Church of Christ and the Earlham community. She was a homemaker and mother. She also worked at the Earlham Post office, Earlham Library, United Food Market and as a scale master at the Concrete Materials quarry. She enjoyed her home, family, watching birds, her flowers and music.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Price in 1948, Elwin Shepherd in 1955 and J. Stanley Williamson in 1994.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean Waugh and Sherry Hanley; two stepsons, John Williamson and Jim Williamson; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Clella Mabel Williamson, 97, of Winterset died of a respiratory ailment Friday at Westbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center there. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham, with burial in Earlham Cemetery.

Mrs. Williamson was born in Cumberland and had lived in Massena before moving to Earlham 81 years ago. She moved to Winterset two years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Earlham Church of Christ, Order of the Eastern Star and Earlham Garden Club. She enjoyed flowers.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean Waugh and Sherry Hanley, both of Earlham; two stepsons, John Williamson of Earlham and Jim Williamson of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Price, Elwin Shepherd and Stanley Williamson.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to he church or Middle River Hospice.
