Mrs. Maude Eaton

After an illness of a few hours, Mrs. Charles Eaton (known here as Maude Armstrong) died at her home near Altoona on Oct. 9. Mrs. Eaton had seemingly been developing a cold and on Wednesday evening complained of severe pain in her side. After she had gone to bed her cough grew worse rapidly, the physician was called, but her right side was paralyzed and death followed on Saturday morning.

The remains were brought here for burial Monday afternoon, the funeral procession coming overland, arriving at 1 o'clock. Brief services were held at the cemetery by an Altoona minister and Rev. G. D. Rogers.

Mrs. Eaton's husband and 7-year-old daughter, her mother, Mrs. Ann Armstrong, all of Altoona, and her sister, Mrs. V. P. McManus, came with the body. Also Mr. McManus and relatives of Mr. Eaton and friends.

Mrs. Easton was widely known in this vicinity, having taught school after her graduation from Winterset High School. Since her marriage eighteen years ago her home has been elsewhere, but Winterset still was home to her. Full of humor and generous to the utmost, Mrs. Eaton will be greatly missed by all who knew her and mourn her death at an early age.
