ERSIE EASTER OF CEDAR FALLS DIES

Ersie Easter, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Nov. 15 at the Colonial Manor nursing home in Davenport.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Nov. 18 at 1:30 at the Nelson Funeral home in Cedar Falls. Dr. Harvey Nelson officiated with burial in the Midwest Garden of Memories in Waterloo.

Mr. Easter was born Sept. 6, 1887 in Oberlin, Kansas, son of Josiah and Emma (Ford) Easter. He was married to Leda Mattingly April 9, 1914 in Cedar Falls. They had farmed until his retirement in 1961. He was a member of the First United Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife, two sons Howard of Moline, Illinois and Marvin of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, William F. Easter and Frank Easter of Winterset and three sisters, Lenna Easter of Winterset, Mrs. Olive Dodson of Washington D.C. and Mrs. Mildred Benjamin of Los Angeles, California and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters. Those driving from Winterset to Cedar Falls to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. William F. Easter, William K. Easter and Frank Easter.
