Burton Paul Dye, 63, died suddenly at his home in Earlham Feb. 20, 2006.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Earlham Friends Church with Pastor Linda Burnett officiating; burial was at Earlham Cemetery. Tolling of the Four Five's was performed by John Schultz of the Indianola Fire Department.
Burt Dye was born Oct. 6, 1942 in Sublette, Kan., to Burton and Rose Mary (Schupman) Dye. He was a 1962 graduate of Aransas Pass High School in Aransas Pass, Texas. He entered the United States Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War. On June 1, 1968, he married Ann Lange in Chicago, Ill. Burt was employed as a supervisor of check processing at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago and retired from Federal Home Land Bank in 2000. He was a member of the Earlham Fire Department, Iowa Firefighters Association and Earlham Library Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Ann of Earlham; one daughter, Jeannette Dye of Ventura; and a sister, Peggy Dye Jones of Aransas Pass, Texas.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Dexter, Earlham and Redfield.
