MRS. LLOYD BOND Dies At 49 Years

Was Well-Known Resident of Winterset and Pitzer
Communities

Mrs. Lloyd Bond, a well-knwn resident of the Winterset and Pitzer communities all her life, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1965, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 49 years of age.

Mrs. Bond was the former Mary Anne Barrus, daughter of Charles and Hazel Rees Barrus. She was born in Winterset July 30, 1916 and spent her early life here.

She graduated from Winterset High school with the class of 1934. As a young woman she did secretarial work, and was employed at the J. C. Penney store here for 11 years as a clerk-bookkeeper.

In early life she became a member of the First Methodist church at Winterset, transferring to the Pitzer United Presbyterian church after her marriage.

She was married to Lloyd Bond at the First Methodist church in Winterset on Feb. 24, 1946. Since then her home had been in the Pitzer community.

She had served her church and community in many ways. She was a leader of the Pitzer Youth organization for eight years, a girls 4-H club leader for four years, member of the Pitzer Golden Rule club and of the Studious Modern club in Winterset. She was active in auxiliary of the Madison county Angus association, serving on the state board.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Linda Ruth, aged 18; a son William Ray, aged 14; her mother, Mrs. Hazel Barrus of Winterset; and the following brothers and sisters: Dale Barrus of Warren, Ariz., Gene A. Barrus and Charles Barrus, Jr. of Cody, Wyo., Mrs. Ruth Heimke of Greeley, Colo., Mrs. Dorothy Allgeyer of Winterset, Mrs. Marjorie Warren of Des Moines, Mrs. Betty Mark of Dallas Center, and Mrs. Edna O'Farrell of West Covina, Calif.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the First Methodist church in Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Everett K. Burham, and the Rev. A. C. Bulock of Lone Rock. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
