Services for Helen W. Dunmire, 73, Earlham, who died Feb. 24 at the Madison Manor Retirement Center in Earlham where she resided, were held Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter with the Rev. Robert Farr officiating. Burial was at the Penn Center Cemetery near Earlham.

Born April 20, 1911, southwest of Linden in Guthrie County, she was the daughter of Elna and Florence Wigton. She was a graduate of Redfield High School.

She was married to Harry Wilson Dunmire on May 12, 1936.

Mrs. Dunmire worked for many years at the Dexter Clinic in Dexter and she was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW.

She is survived by her children, Ronald and Jo Dunmire of Cedar Rapids, Ralph C. and Barbara Crouse of Wichita, Kan., and Jack and Veda Kinkennon of Earlham; brothers, Harry Wigton of Redfield and Carroll Wigton of Dexter; sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Elsie) Woodall and Mrs. Joe (Arlee) Foley of Earlham; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a stepson, her parents and two brothers.

Helen Wigton Dunmire, daughter of Elna and Florence Wigton, passed away February 24, 1985 at home at Madison Manor Retirement Center in Earlham, Iowa. She was born April 20, 1911 southwest of Linden, Guthrie County, Iowa. She graduated from Redfield High School.

Helen was united in marriage to Harry Wilson Dunmire on May 12, 1936 and to this union was born three children, Ronald, Barbara and Veda.

Helen worked for many years at the Dexter Clinic in Dexter, Iowa. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the UMW. She radiated love and touched the lives of many people throughout her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; a step-son, Harold Dunmire; her parents and two brothers, Frank and Gordon Wigton. She is survived by her children, Ronald and Jo Dunmire of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ralph C. and Barbara Crouse of Wichita, Kansas, Jack and Veda Kinkennon of Earlham, Iowa; two brothers, Harry Wigton of Redfield and Carroll Wigton of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Elsie) Woodall and Mrs. Joe (Arlee) Foley of Earlham; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted February 26, 1985 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter, Iowa, with the Reverend Robert Farr officiating. Sharon Swartz provided organ music and Ann Trapp was soloist. Pallbearers were Roger Bird, Bob Derrickson, Norman Hougham, Don Cruikshank, Bill Foley and Jim Wigton. Honorary pallbearers were Dave Harris, Willard Hadley, Leo Kinkennon, Joe Trapp, Robert Belding and Earl Beals. Interment was in Penn Center Cemetery, rural Earlham, Iowa.
