Harriet Lorene Dorman, 95, of Phoenix, Ariz. died March 6, 2004.

Funeral services were held Wed., March 10, at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix.

Harriet Dorman was born Nov. 16, 1908 in Dallas County. She graduated from Earlham High School in 1926 and taught country school in Iowa for several years. After her marriage in 1930 to Herman Dorman, she spent most of her life as a homemaker and farm wife in the Peru and Truro areas.

Harriet had been a leader for the Ohio Pollyannas 4-H Club, active in Thursday Girls and was a member of the Truro Congregational Christian Church. In 1967, she and her husband retired to Phoenix where they were also involved in church and civic affairs. In Arizona, Harriet was a member of Desert Christian Fellowship Church, a member and officer of the Kachina Republican Women and for many years, a volunteer at the polls on election day.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by three sons, Howard Dorman of Belmond, Lowell Dorman of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jim Dorman of Casa Grande, Ariz.; three daughters, Dixie Madsen of Cedar Falls, Shirley McClure of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carol Sue Thacker of Bossier City, La.; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
