Word has been received of the death of Alvin J. Dooley, Sr., 86, of Davenport. Born in Taney County, Missouri, he married Selma Genzler in 1916 in Huron, South Dakota.
The Dooleys farmed near Peru from 1941 to 1964, the year Selma died. In 1968, he married Mary C. Hart in Davenport.
Survivors included his wife Mary; daughters, Neola Schmidt, Delores Hayden, Amoura Stock and Eldeen Binns, all of Davenport, and Gloria VanZee, Des Moines; sons, Alvin Jr., Davenport, Sylvester, Des Moines, and Carl, Runnells, Iowa; 44 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchiildren, and one great-great grandchild.
