Graveside services for Katherine Goshorn Wintrode, 94, St. Petersburg, Fla., who died Aug. 12, 1988, at St. Petersburg, will be held Saturday, Aug. 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Winterset Cemetery with the Rev. David Bauer officiating.
Born in Winterset on March 14, 1894, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Goshorn. She was a retired teacher of the St. Petersburg schools. She was married to John H. Wintrode in 1922 in Winterset.
Mrs. Wintrode's parents were founders and owners of the Winterset News until it was purchased in the 1940s by the Madisonian. In Florida, they were involved in banking and the motel business until retirement in St. Petersburg.
Mrs. Wintrode taught English in St. Petersburg for 35 years, had attended Winterset High School and was a 1917 graduate of the University of Iowa. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority at University of Iowa.
Survivors include sons, Joseph H. and John H., both of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Martha Richie of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

She was a Presbyterian. She was an English teacher for many years at Glen Oaks Junior High School, St. Petersburg.
