J. Fred Wissler, who had been a patient at a nursing home in St. Charles for some time, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 1961, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 72 years of age.
A native of Orient, Mr. Wissler had been a resident of Des Moines for 38 years. He operated an insurance agency for many years there, retiring in 1947.
He was the father of Norman F. Wissler of Wick.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday from the Dunn Funeral home in Des Moines, with burial in the Masonic cemetery there.

Services for J. Fred Wissler, 72, formerly of Des Moines, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage Sunday at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset, will be at 1 p. m. Wednesday at the Dunn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.
Born in Orient, Mr. Wissler was a Des Moines resident 38 years, operating the Wissler Insurance Agency in the Shops Building before his retirement in 1947. He moved to Madison County several months ago.
He was a member of the Congregational Church and Cataract Masonic Lodge in Minneapolis.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. R. F. Ashenhurst of Grand Island, Neb.; three sons, Norman F. of Wick; Robert J. of Des Moines and Paul E. of Williston. N. D.; a sister, Mrs. C. B. Van Ausdall of Sioux Falls, S. D.; three brothers, W. E. of Des Moines; E. E. of Las Vegas, Nev., and C. W. of Estherville; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
