Betty J. Meyers, 76, of West Des Moines died of renal failure March 6, 2000, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with Dr. Bobby Dickerson officiating. Interment of the cremains will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Betty Meyers was born March 31, 1923, to Claude L. and Oris H. (Tribbey) Alexander of Winterset. A 1941 graduate of Winterset High School, she married Laurel D. Meyers in 1962 in Lincoln, Neb. Betty worked as a garde chef for the Crystal Tree Restaurant, among others, until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and an infant son.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Sherry Joyner of Wimberley, Texas, and Darcey Paullin (husband Dan) of Winterset; one step-son, Dan Meyers of Satellite Beach, Fla.; one brother, Claude Alexander (wife Jane) of Aitkin, Minn.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
