MRS. ALMEDIA DELONG DIES IN MISSOURI

Mrs. Almedia DeLong, former resident of the Truro community died Dec. 19 at her home in Buffalo, Mo. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. DeLong was the former Florence Almedia Ellson, daughter of Alonzo and Nora Ellson. She was born in Warren county Feb. 21, 1892.

On Feb. 10, 1914, she was married to George DeLong. Her husband and a son preceded her in death.

Mrs. DeLong was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Truro for 30 years. She was also a member of the Truro Methodist church, but transferred her membership to Perry in 1951.She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Esther Slocum of Buffalo; a granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 22 from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. Robert Webber. Burial was made in the Fields cemetery.

Florence Almedia Ellson

Florence Almedia Ellson, daughter of Alonzo and Nora Ellson, was born Feb. 21, 1892, in Warren county, Iowa, and died at her home in Buffalo, Mo., Dec. 19, 1961, at the age of 69 years, nine months and 28 days.

She was united in marriage to George DeLong, Feb. 10, 1914. Two children were born to this union. Her husband and a son preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her death a daughter, Mrs. Esther Slocum and granddaughter, Betty Jean of Buffalo, Mo., also a grandson, Paul Steward, of Denver, Colo., and a granddaughter, Mrs. Fay Englke of Wadena, Minn., and four great grandchildren, Billy, Lynn Marie, Ray and Jeninne Englke.

In 1916 Mrs. DeLong united with the Truro Methodist church and in 1951 her membership was transferred to the Christian church at Perry, Iowa. She was a member of Ivy Chapter O.E.S. at Truro for 30 years and demitted to Chapter No. 446 at Buffalo, Mo., in 1959.

Allie, as she was known, was possessed with a very deep faith in God. She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Robert Webber at the Kale Funeral home Friday afternoon with interment at Fields Cemetery.
