MRS. ROY CUNNINGHAM OF WINTERSET DIES

Life-Time Resident of This County Was 74 Years Of Age

Mrs. Roy Cunningham of Winterset, a life-time resident of Madison County, died Thursday June 17, at Memorial hospital here. She was 74 years of age.

Mrs. Cunningham was the former Martha Mary Egy, daughter of David P. and Mertie Rehard Egy. She was born in this county, Oct. 7, 1890 and spent her entire life here.

She was married Dec. 19, 1917, to Roy L. Cunningham, who survives her. She was preceded in death by a son, Earl W. Cunningham and a grandson, Robert Herrick.

She was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Herrick of Avoca and Mrs. George Hill of Winterset; two sons, Robert E. Cunningham of Walla Walla, Wash., and Hugh P. Cunningham of Winterset; 14 grandchildren; four brothers, Walter, Ray, Joe, and Claude Egy all of Winterset; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Parcaut of Des Moines, Mrs. Lillie Johnson of Stuart and Mrs. Hazel Case of Newton.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the First Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
