Dora E. Dean, 76, of Winterset died of a stroke Jan. 13, 2000 at her home.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at Ochiltree Funeral Service, with a reception following. There will be no visitation. A private burial will take place at Winterset Cemetery.
Dora Dean was born June 6, 1923, to Guido and Niccola (Frediani) Scatena of Vorden, Calif. She spent her early years on her family's truck farm in California. She married Kenneth Dean on Aug. 30, 1946 in Tracy, Calif. She and her husband moved to Winterset in 1948.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant granddaughter.
She is survived by one son, Rodney Dean (wife Kathryn) of Sonoma County, Calif.; one brother, Nathaniel Scatena of Stockton, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
