A funeral for Willis C. Sprunger, 52, of Earlham was held June 16 at the Early Chapel Church in rural Madison County. Mr. Sprunger died of a stroke on June 11 at Reno, Nev. Burial was in the Jackson Township Cemetery near Earlham.

Mr. Sprunger was born near Earlham and lived in Madison and Dallas counties all of his life. He was a machinist and gunsmith at Pitzer Gun Shop in Winterset and was a member of the National Rifle Association, Blacksmith and Welders Association, Iowa Sportsmen Federation and Early Chapel Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; a son, Dan of Earlham; two daughters, Dawn Berch of Jackpot, Nev. and Becky McKinney of Earlham; his mother, Mabel Sprunger of Winterset; a brother, David of Des Moines; two sisters, Juanita Ross of Winterset and Janet Burns of Des Moines; and three grandchildren.
