Lyle R. Davis, Winterset

Services for Lyle R. Davis, 81, Winterset, who died Oct. 15 at the Care Center North where he resided, were held Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Adair County on July 29, 1907, he was the son of Elian and Emma Warren Davis. A retired farmer and mechanic, he spent most of his adult life in Madison County. In 1940-41, he helped work on the Al-Can Highway.

He was married to Florence Young in 1935. She died in 1955. He was married to Rosey Damsgaard in 1957 and she died in 1984.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Damsgaard of Stuart; a sister, Mrs. Nellie (William) Nelson of Atlantic; and four grandchildren.

Others preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, and a half-brother.
