LILLIAN M. DAVIS DIED HERE MONDAY

Resident of County Most of Life Dies at Age of 86 Years

Mrs. Lillian M. Davis, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died Monday, Sept. 24 at a Winterset nursing home. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Davis was born near Barney April 15, 1876. She was the former Lillian Palmer, daughter of Ed and Flora Baurgette Palmer. As a young woman she taught school for a number of years.

She was married Jan. 29, 1900, in Des Moines, to Frederick S. Murrell. His death occurred in 1942. She was married a second time, in 1947, to Frank A. Davis of Belmond. He also preceded her in death, in November of that year.

She was a member of the First Christian church of Winterset.

She is survived by four sons, George E. Murrell and Orbah C. Murrell of Winterset, Dale P. Murrell of San Diego, Calif., and Frederick Murrell of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Lida McFall of Denver and Mrs. Minnie Gibbons of McLean, Va. She was preceded in death by a son, David Murrell of Ogden, a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Peterson of Denver, and by three children, who died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the First Christian church of Winterset. The Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset will conduct the services. Burial will be made in the Barney cemetery.
