Earnest Otto Darnall, 80 a native of Madison County, died Monday, March 14, 1977, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. He was born October 16, 1896, in Webster township, the son of John Rastus and Rebecca Josephine Wright Darnall.
A retired dynamite driller for E. I. Sargents rock quarries, Mr. Darnall was married to Inez Alice Little on February 28, 1920, in Winterset. She preceded him in death April 27, 1971.
Survivors include four sons, Raymond of Whittier, California, Robert of Muscatine, and Doyle of Humboldt, Iowa. Also surviving are eight grandchildren.
Mr. Darnall was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and one sister.
Funeral services for Earnest Darnall will be conducted Thursday, March 17, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Burial will be made at the Winterset Cemetery.
