CHARLES CUMINGS OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Charles F. Cumings of St. Charles, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died last Wednesday, May 6, at a nursing home in St. Charles. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Cumings was a native of Henry county, where he was born Dec. 7, 1891, a son of David and Nancy McKee Cumings. His life was spent in farming. He was a member of the St. Charles Methodist church.

In 1908 he was married to Bertha Landers, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Lawrence C. Cumings of Des Moines; and a daughter, Mrs. Ruby M. Downs of Norwalk; in addition to four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Rolla Cumings of Prole, and a sister, Mrs. Eva Landers of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the St. Charles Methodist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Howard Cho. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
