MRS. MARY CRONE DIES AT 81 YEARS

Mrs. Mary O. Crone, a resident of Winterset and Madison county for many years, died Dec. 2, at the University hospital in Iowa City of a heart ailment. She had been in ill health for several months and in the hospital for six weeks.

Mrs. Crone was 64 years of age at her death. She was born at Lucas April 3, 1903. She was the former Mary O. Benge, daughter of Perry R. and Maggie Lane Benge. Much of her life was spent in Winterset and Madison County, but she had lived in Des Moines since 1942.

She was member of Trinity Methodist church in Des Moines and its home circle.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Naomi Stroeber of West Des Moines, Forest Hermon of Numa, Dale Hermon of Kansas City, Mo., and Robert Hermon of Tempe, Ariz.; her mother, Mrs. Maggie Benge of Winterset; two sisters, Mrs. Wilma Cooper of Des Moines and Mrs. Marjorie Petersen of St. Charles; four brothers, Harlan, Fay and Eddie Benge of Winterset and Richard Benge of Des Moines, eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was formerly married to Roy Hermon of Winterset. Her second marriage was to Paul B. Crone, who preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Dec. 5 from Arnold's Highland Park Funeral home in Des Moines, with the Rev. John Darlington officiating. Burial was made in Glendale cemetery.
