Services for Jesse Serene Crawford, 84, St. Charles, who died Nov. 22 at Clarke County Hospital at Osceola, were held Friday, Nov. 25, at the Kale Funeral Home, Truro, with the Rev. Jim Patrick officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.
Born in Warren County on July 24, 1899, he was the son of Franklin and Laura May Black Crawford. He attended Madison County schools and was married to Mary Jane Downs on Oct. 16, 1918 at St. Charles.
Mr. Crawford spent most of his life on a farm near St. Charles and was a member of the United Parish Church at St. Charles.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Charlotte Laura Scheid and husband Herbert and Harriett Edmunds and husband James, all of Fullerton, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a sister, Dortha Wilkinson of Fullerton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
