Life-Time Resident of This County Was 93 Years Of Age
Mrs. Frank C. Craven of Macksburg died last Wednesday, Oct. 11, at University hospital in Iowa City. She was 93 years of age.
Mrs. Craven was a life-time resident of Madison county. She was the former Emma C. Conway, daughter of Lloyd and Susanna Coate Conway, and was born in this county July 31, 1874. She was married at her home near Macksburg on Nov. 19, 1898, to Frank C. Craven. Her husband preceded her in death, as also did a daughter, Mrs. Doris Warnock.
She had been a member of the Macksburg Methodist church since the age of 14 years, and was active in the W.S.C.S. of that church. She was also a member of the Woman's Relief Corps and the Macksburg Garden club.
She leaves four children, Mrs. George Frederick of Winterset, Paul Craven of Newton, Mrs. Helen Jones of Seattle, Wash., and Frank Craven of Winterset; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn W. Conway of El Monte, Calif.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Everett K. Burham, pastor of the First Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
