Death of Gladys Parkins

Gladys Parkins, who has been in poor health, for several weeks, died at the Winterset hospital, early Wednesday morning, July 8th. Miss Parkins, who was 24 years of age, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Parkins, and had always made her home in this county. She was born in Lincoln township, February 28, 1907, but in more recent years, the family have lived northeast of Winterset. For several years she was employed in the Lucas grocery, but during the past year, has worked in Des Moines.

She entered the Winterset hospital last week, for treatment, and a major operation was performed on Monday. Complications had developed, and she died, Wednesday morning.

The Rev. H. L. Olmstead, will conduct her funeral services at the Church of Christ, Friday afternoon, July 10th, at 2:30 o’clock, and burial will be in the North River United Brethren cemetery.

The girl is survived by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers: Mesdames Charles Landers, Clarence Algoe, and Marion Cameron of Winterset; Boyd Parkins of Denver, and Ellis Parkins of Winterset.
