Death of Fritz Lorenzen

Fritz Julius Lorenzen passed away at the home of his eldest daughter, Mrs. Howard Lorimor of Des Moines, January 23. He was 87 years of age at the time of his death. He came to this county in 1870. He was married to Francis Gillogly of Patterson. The family resided in Patterson until 1892 when they moved to Winterset and later to a farm near Peru. They again moved to Winterset where Mrs. Lorenzen passed away July 11, 1911. Since that time Mr. Lorenzen has made his home with his daughters, Mrs. Chas. Tilp of Peru and Mrs. Lorimor of Des Moines.

He is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Nora Lorimor and Mrs. Della Tilp and his son, John of Litchfield, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at Patterson Sunday.

Fritz Julius Lorenzen

Fritz Julius Lorenzen was born May 3, 1848, at Pelworm, Germany, and passed away at the home of his eldest daughter, Mrs. Howard Lorimor of Des Moines, January 23, 1931. Age 87 years, 8 months and 20 days. He came to this country in the year 1870. He was married to Frances Gillogly of Patterson, Iowa.

To this union four children were born, one, Martha, dying in infancy.

The family resided in Patterson until the year 1892, moving to Winterset and later to their farm at Peru. Afterward residing in Winterset where his wife passed away July 11, 1911.

Since this time Mr. Lorenzen has made his home with his two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Tilp of Peru, Iowa, and Mrs. Howard Lorimor of Des Moines.

The deceased was reared in the Lutheran church, later in life uniting with the Church of Christ. Being in poor health the last three years and as the end of this weary pilgrimage grew near he often expressed a desire to depart with this life. The end came very peacefully.

There remains to mourn his death two daughters, Nora Lorimor and Della Tilp, one son, John of Litchfield, Minn., two grand children and three great grandchildren.
