Viola L. Stegall, 81, of Earlham, died of cancer September 24, 1997 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Sept. 26, 1997 at the Earlham Methodist Church with Pastor Alberta Irvin officiating. Burial followed at the Earlham Cemetery.

She was born to Edward and Lina (Brenneman) Ogden on March 4, 1916 in Fairfield. She graduated from Lockridge High School in 1935 and received a license from the Cosmetology School in Des Moines. She married Glen Stegall on March 4, 1941. She owned and operated Viola's Beauty Shop in Earlham for many years, and after retiring she sold Avon products for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include one son, Dennis Stegall and wife Sandra of Columbia, Mo.; one brother, Lawrence Ogden of Perry; one sister Wilda Boos of Fairfield; one granddaughter and one grandson.
