Funeral services were observed Monday, September 20, at 10:30 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home for Martin James Cook, 61, who died Thursday, September 16, 1976, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Mr. Cook was born in Booneville, Iowa, on August 2, 1915, the son of John L. Cook and Mary Beveridge Cook. He was united in marriage with Helen DeLay on October 29, 1946 in Indianola, Iowa.
A lifetime resident of Madison County, Martin Cook was a farmer and served with the United States forces during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, one son, Jack of Albany, Missouri; one daughter, Judy L. Johnson of St. Charles, Iowa, and three grandchildren.
Also surviving Mr. Cook are two brothers, John F. Cook of St. Charles, Iowa; Daniel W. Cook of West Des Moines and three sisters, Kathryn Thornburg of New Virginia, Iowa; Juanita (Mrs. Merle) Lane of West Des Moines and Dorothy (Mrs. Orville) Hanks of West Des Moines.
Officiating at Monday's services was Rev. Eldon Ringle.
Burial was made at the St. Charles Cemetery.
