WILLIAM E. WOODMAN, Winterset

William Edward Woodman, son of Forest and Aida Owen Woodman was born May 11, 1911 in Pittsburg, Pa., and died at the Bethesda Care Center in Winterset, on March 15, 1986, at the age of 74 years.

William grew up in Stuart, but spent most of his adult life in San Antonio, Texas, where he was associated with the Broadway National Bank and later was regional director of the Small Business Administration for South Texas. He was retired in 1973 and had been ill since living in Winterset.

On July 18, 1951 he was united in marriage to Phyllis See in Austin, Texas. He was affiliated with the Congregational Church in Stuart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steve in 1976; and one sister, Evelyn.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Winterset; son, William Woodman, Jr. of Newark, Del.; grandaughter, Susan Woodman of Newark, Del.; one brother, Joe Woodman of Stuart; and three sisters, Ethel Earhart of Stuart, Lois Lydon of Des Moines, and Florence Krohn of Prairie City.

Funeral services were held at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro, on Tuesday, March 18, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Charles Morrow of Macksburg officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.
