1996Wayne Lee Jurgensen, 35, of Winterset, died Oct. 29, 1996 of injuries sustained in an auto accident northeast of Winterset on the Cumming pavement. Funeral services were Nov. 2 at the First Christian Church in Winterset. The Rev. Bobby Dickerson officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
He was born in Winterset on Aug. 21, 1961 to William O. and Margaret (Allsup) Jurgensen. He was a 1979 graduate of Winterset High School. He married Lori Shepherd. He was employed with Madison County Secondary Roads and worked on the bridge crew. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County and a member of the American Motorcycle Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one son; and one daughter.
Surviving relatives include his parents of Winterset; one daughter, Marie Jurgensen of Winterset; three brothers, Bill Jurgensen and wife Sharon of Stuart, Gail Jurgensen and wife Penney of Winterset, and David Jurgensen and wife Amy of Madrid; one sister, Christine Hobart and husband Mike of Winterset; and a special friend, Sue Lowe.
