Hilda Irma Coen, 90, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Sept. 21, 1998, at Winterset Care Center North.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Montpelier Cemetery in Patterson with Pastor Jon Gaul officiating. Visitation is today (Wednesday, Sept. 23) from noon to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
Irma Coen was born Nov. 16, 1907 in Piedmont, Kan., to Frederick and Nettie (Meyers) Murry. She married Charles William Coen on Feb. 27, 1926, in Des Moines. Irma was a homemaker, having been a resident of Madison County since the early 1920s. She was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Rex Coen (wife Mary) of Plattsmouth, Neb., and Ted Coen (wife Doris) of St. Joseph, Mo.; one daughter, Connie Cain (husband Don) of Redfield; one brother, Dale Murry of Winterset; one sister, Francis Martin, also of Winterset; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
