Page 1Death of James A. McKinzie
Funeral services for James Arron McKinzie, a former resident of Macksburg, were held Sunday at the Macksburg Methodist church. Rev. H. L. Olmstead of Winterset conducted the funeral services, and burial was made in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
Mr. McKinzie was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arron McKinzie, and was born at Macksburg on August 20, 1880. When he was nine years of age, his mother died, and from then on he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Meharry of Afton.
He was married to Laura Viola Mann, February 28, 1905. They were the parents of four daughters, Coryl Chigston, Edna Breiholt, Lorena and Maxine McKinzie.
They made their home for several years in this county, and in 1917 they moved to Montana, where the next eight years were spent. Since 1924 they have resided in Colorado, at Brighton and Fort Lupton. Mr. McKinzie has been in poor health since the death of his wife, June 17, 1931.
He leaves besides his daughters, his foster parents, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bonham of Macksburg, Mrs. Anna Rawlings of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Mrs. Linnie Shoemaker of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and five brothers John of Blackwell, Oklahoma, George of Wichita, Frank of Corder, Missouri, Joe of Woodburn and Logan of Eagle Grove.

James Arron McKinzie, for many years a resident of Madison in Union counties, died at his home near Denver, Colorado, September 2 at the age of 51 years. He and his family moved to Colorado in 1924 and made their home at Brighton and Fort Lupton.
He was united in marriage to Laura Viola Mann, February 28, 1905. They became the parents of four daughters, Coryl Chigston, Edna Breiholt, Lorene and Maxine McKinzie. Mr. McKinzie had been in ill health since the death of his wife, June 17, 1931.
In 1897 united with the West Branch Methodist church. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge of Brighton, and the Hawthorne Rebekah lodge No. 350 of Macksburg.
He leaves besides his daughters, his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Meharry, Afton; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Benham, Macksburg; Mrs. Anna Rawlings, Blackwell, Oklahoma; Mrs. Linnie Shoemaker, Tuttle, Oklahoma; five brothers: John of Blackwell, George of Wichita, Kansas; Frank of Corder, Missouri; Joe of Woodburn, Iowa, and Logan of Eagle Grove, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Macksburg conducted by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead of Winterset. Interment was made in the family lot at the Moon cemetery, Macksburg.
