Marche Druscilla Coakley

Marche Druscilla Coakley, daughter of James A. and Bethena Coakley was born March 1, 1879 near Winterset, Iowa, and died September 14, 1933 at her home near Macksburg, age 54 years, 6 months and 16 day. Her mother died when she was a small child and she made her home with her grandparents until her marriage.

On March 1, 1896, at the age of 17 she was united in marriage to Roy Rogers. To this union were born seven children, Mrs. Lela Adams, of Creston, Mrs. Blanche Abrahams of Winterset, Mrs. Marie Crawford of Dexter, Elsie who preceded her in death in August 16, 1906, Leroy, Wilma and Betty at home.

At the age of 15 she united with the Methodist church at Pleasant View. In 1912 she transferred her membership to the Wells Congregational church and later when that church was disbanded her membership was transferred to the Methodist church in Macksburg, where it remained until the time of her death.

Besides her husband and six children, she leaves to mourn her loss, six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. J. T. Brocke of Aurora, Illinois, one brother Abjah Coakley of Kansas City, Missouri, two half brothers and two half sisters of Creston and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her funeral service was held in the M. E. Church in Macksburg Friday, September 15, 1933, at 2 0'clock, conducted by the Rev. Mrs. Wolfe of Lorimor. Interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.
