CECIL F. CLIFTON DIES AT 54 YEARS

Had Returned to Farm Here Only Recently From Davenport

Cecil F. Clifton, who had moved from Davenport to a farm near Earlham less than a month ago, died this Monday, April 24 at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 54 years of age.

Mr. Clifton was born near Aredale, Iowa, on Sept 9, 1912, a son of Charles C. and Myrtle Julick Clifton. He moved from Aredale to Madison county, living here several years before moving to Davenport. He worked as a machinist in Davenport for 15 years.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

He was married Oct. 12, 1946, at Ottumwa, to Margaret I. Green. Her death occurred on April 1 of this year.

Surviving are two sons by this marriage, Richard and Dennis Clifton. He also leaves two children by a previous marriage, Donald and Vivian.

Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, with the Rev. Mr. Young, pastor of the Worthington church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
