Services Held Friday for Eva Brant

Funeral services were held Friday, July 3, at Kale Funeral Home in Truro, for Eva H. Brant of Truro, who died June 30, 1981, at her home. She was 89 years old.

Born in Lorimor on Jan. 14, 1892, she was the daughter of William H. Hammans and Mercy Grosbeck.

She attended Lorimor schools and Des Moines College. In June of 1913 she married John Erven Brant in Lorimor. Five children were born to the union.

Mrs. Brant attended Lorimor Baptist Church and was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendents.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, a son, William; a daughter, Frieda; six brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, John of Truro and Walter of Osceola; one daughter, Marie Brant of Truro; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Lorimor Cemetery.

Eva H. Brant, daughter of William H. Hammans and Mercy Grosbeck Hammans was born January 14, 1892 at Lorimor and departed this life June 30, 1981 at her home near Truro at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 16 days.

She attended the Lorimor schools and the Des Moines college in Des Moines and on June 18, 1913 was united in marriage to John Erven Brant at Lorimor. To this union five children were born, William, Freida, John, Walter and Marie.

Eva was a member of the Baptist Church at Lorimor as well as the Society for Mayflower Descendants.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 1927, a son, William, one daughter, Freida, six brothers and two sisters.

Surviving to mourn her passing her children: son John Brant and wife, Mary Evelyn of Truro; son, Walter Brant and wife, Jeanine of Osceola, daughter, Marie Brant of Truro, daughter-in-law, Bernice Brant of Truro; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Kale Funeral Home at Truro, July 3, 1 p.m. with the Rev. Millard Marshall of Onaga, Kansas officiating. Burial was in the Lorimor Cemetery, Lorimor.
