Beatrice Clark, Winterset

Services for Beatrice Clarke, 82, rural Winterset, who died Jan. 22 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Jan. 25 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis A. Crown officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles cemetery.

Born in St. Charles on Sept., 20, 1903, she was the daughter of Cash and Bessie Fulton Downs. She was a homemaker, a lifetime resident of Madison County and a 50-year member of Eastern Star Lodge No. 174 in St. Charles.

On April 25, 1924, she was married to Willis J. Clarke in Winterset.

Survivors include sons, Ivan Clarke of St. Charles and Marvel Clarke of Des Moines; a daughter, Marjorie Baker of Indianola; a sister, Dorothy Shank of Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
