BERTEEN CLARK DIED LAST FRIDAY

Life-Long Resident of This Community Was 86 Years Of Age

Mrs. Walter W. Clark of Winterset, a life-long resident of this community, died Friday, Jan. 20, at a Winterset nursing home. Her death followed an extended period of failing health. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Clark was the former Berteen Snyder, daughter of Andrew and Rachel Blair Snyder. She was born at Winterset June 27, 1880.

She was married to Walter W. Clark in November 1904. Their life together was spent in Winterset, until his death in December 1960.

Mrs. Clark was a member of the First Christian church of Winterset.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Hanson of Winterset, Mrs. Marjorie Mantz of Mission, Texas and Mrs. Marabelle Wilson of Winterset; a son, W. Ed Clark of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Nellie Snyder of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. William Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial was made in Winterset cemetery.
