Mabel Chew, Winterset

Services for Mabel G. Chew, 73, Winterset, who died Jan. 1 at a Colorado Springs, Colo., hospital were held Jan. 6 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. Burial was at the McDonald-Chase Cemetery.

Born in Winterset On Oct. 24, 1915, she was the daughter of Casper and Hanna Palmer Cox. She was married to John Chew on Feb. 2, 1937 in Winterset.

A homemaker and cook, she was a lifetime resident of Madison County. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the VFW Auxiliary and the Rebecca Lodge.

Survivors include Lee Cox, a brother, of Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother and a sister.
