Mrs. W. H. Barbary Dies

Peru Special. December 21, 1931

Sarah Margaret McKee, daughter of John and Ann McKee, was born in Washington county, Virginia, on August 14, 1847, and died at her home in Peru, Iowa, December 12, 1931, at the age of 84 years, three months and 28 days. After the Civil war in which her father was killed while serving as a Confederate soldier, she, with her mother and family moved to Madison county, Iowa, which has since been her home. December 17, 1867, she was united in marriage by Rev. M. M. O’Neil, to William H. Barbary who preceded her in death in 1916.

Very early in life she united with the M. E. church and her daily life and deeds are the truest evidence of her religious sincerity.

The immediate relatives she leaves to mourn her death are her sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hiatt of Peru, and Mrs. Lena Gation of Spokane, Washington and brothers, John R. McKee of Indianola and Z. T. McKee of Girard, Kansas.
