Mrs. Ross Rogers Dies in Missouri

Mrs. Ross Rogers, well known Winterset woman, died this Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Branson, Mo., where she and Mr. Rogers had been spending the winter months.

The body is being returned to Winterset for funeral services and burial. Plans are not complete, but the services have been set for this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home.

MRS. ROSS ROGERS Dies In Missouri

Mrs. Ross Rogers, long-time Winterset resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1960, at Branson, Mo., where she and her husband were spending the winter. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. Rogers was a former Winterset school teacher. She was born in Cornwall, England, on Sept. 10, 1884, as Annie Simmons, daughter of George and Jane Moon Simmons. She came to the United states as a young woman, and in 1919 came to Winterset, where she taught at the South ward school for a year.

She was married Aug. 27, 1921, to Ross Rogers of Winterset. They were parents of one daughter, now Mrs. O. D. Addy, Jr. of this community.

In addition to her husband and daughter, she leaves three stepdaughters, Mrs. Warner Forbes of Point Lookout, Mo.; Mrs. Gordon Wilson of Orient, and Mrs. Wendell Lytle of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Flora Fairholm of Peru.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian Church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
