Francis Carlson Services Held

Francis Elmer Carlson of Truro died Tuesday, April 8, at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 87.

Born on April 11, 1892, in Des Moines, he was the son of Albert Claude and Christince Nelson Carlson. He attended Polk County schools and on July 3, 1915, was united in marriage to Grace Rombach. His wife preceded him in death in 1970. A farmer, Mr. Carlson attended the Methodist Church.

Among the survivors are two children, William Carlson of Clearwater, Fla., and Arlene Murfin of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and five brothers.
