CARL T. CARLSEN DIES AT 77 YEARS

Native of Audubon County Had Lived Here Since 1945.

Carl T. Carlsen of Winterset died Saturday, May 30, at Memorial hospital here. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Carlsen was a native of Audubon county, where he was born March 26, 1887, a son of Julius and Meta Pedersen Carlsen. He moved to Madison county in 1939,living here briefly before moving to Anita. He returned to this community in 1945, and had lived here since that time.

He served in the U.S. armed forces during World War I. His active life was spent in farming. He was a member of the Lutheran church at Elkhorn.

Mr. Carlsen was not married. His nearest surviving relative is a sister, Mrs. Dortea Fulgsang of Atlantic.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Marvin Behrens, pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
